Flat Springs

A strip Material that stores and releases energy upon deflection is termed a flat spring, even if only a small section of its total area acts as a spring.

A & D Components produces flat springs on four-slide machines and power presses. The maximum part dimension for four-slide work are 2" with and 17" feed length; for power presses, 8" width and 9" feed length, depending on part configuration, material, temper and thickness. (The primary consideration in machine selection is lowest unit cost.) Many heat treating processes are available. Besides high carbon spring steel (AISI 1075 and AISI 1095), we also use:

  • Brass
  • Aluminum
  • Beryllium copper
  • Phosphor bronze
  • Stainless steel
